Just came across this article. It's terrific. I'm going to list it on my web page, www.nycnotkansas.com, which is about NYC gay history - especially in Lon's old neighborhood on the Upper West Side.

Super article. Thanks! Do you have any copies of old photos taken by Lon that would show details inside Mae West's former brownstone on West End Avenue? The carvings on the walls, etc. are supposed to be exceptional.

To anyone: I have been trying without success to locate my old friend Donald Sherin of Gay Pleasures-Treasures in NYC. Please, anyone know about him?

If she was with/married to Fernando Lamas, betcha it was Arlene Dahl, not Rhonda Fleming. (Both hot redheads of the time.) Could be wrong, of couse. Great site!
